TrendTracker Dallas: Studs

Studs have been creeping back into the fashion scene for the past year or so, but this summer they’ve truly arrived. Personally, I love them because they add a little edginess to any outfit. For a day at the mall, simply throw on this studded tee by Black ($87/Bittano) with a pair of skinny jeans and some gladiators. These Miss Tic tuxedo-style pants (on sale for $117/H.D.’s Clothing Company) could work for a business event with a conservative top, or for a night out with a super sexy top.

However, do NOT wear the pants with this studded blazer (pictured). Too much stud is bad stud. The blazer though ($153/Bittano) would be cute with a flowy dress underneath or a long silky shirt and some skinny jeans. (Those skinny jeans really come in handy, don’t they?) Now, the Pierre Dumas booties ($90/Bittano). Sigh… They didn’t have my size. But I adore them, want them, covet them. Why? Not only because of the versatile color but with an open heel and open toe they’re booties you can actually wear in Dallas in the summer without looking ridiculous. I love open-toe booties, but when the heel is closed they just seem too much for 100 degree weather. However, I think an open heel and and open toe can be pulled off. So get on the stud kick, whether you need something dressy or casual, because there are great representations of this trend all over town.
