Dallas County second-deadliest week.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 614 new COVID-19 cases and 10 deaths on Saturday and 518 new cases and seven deaths on Sunday. Despite the lower case numbers, it was the second deadliest COVID-19 week for Dallas County.

For the fourth day in a row, Texas reported more than 250 deaths statewide due to the virus. See more COVID-19 data visualizations with The Texas Tribune.

The Texas supreme court has refused to hear a Houston conservative power broker’s case against Governor Greg Abbott and Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo’s coronavirus orders. The orders involve wearing masks, washing hands, and social distancing. The Dallas Morning News has more.

In the early days of the pandemic, physicians were trading notes across oceans as the virus hit different regions at different times. Italian doctors led webinars for American counterparts to help them prepare for what was coming, including sessions that were viewed by physicians at UT Southwestern. KERA has more.
