Moss Adams Combines With Plano-Based Southwest Consulting Associates

|

Seattle-based accounting firm Moss Adams will be combining with Southwest Consulting Associates, a healthcare reimbursement services company in Plano.

The combination will grow Moss Adams Health Care Consulting Practice, quadrupling the firm’s cost-reimbursement team and expanding the firm’s reach into the central United States and Midwest. SCA was founded in 1989 and has 400 clients across the United States.

Moss Adams has a similar group at the firm, but had mainly focused on clients on the west coast, and didn’t have all the desired services for beginning to end for large health systems, says Chris Pritchard, the Group Leader of Mergers and Acquisitions in Moss Adams National Healthcare Services Practice. The move helps Moss Adams be a complete enterprise solution for their clients. “They filled in the holes we didn’t have,” he says.

The combination provides stability for SCA in a market where smaller firms can have difficulty landing contracts for big health systems. Around 200 clients and 27 employees will be brought to Moss Adams during the combination.

“The complex and rapidly evolving nature of the health care industry creates a significant need for innovative and reliable enterprise solutions,” said Pritchard via release. “This combination allows Moss Adams to provide a full suite of industry-leading, enterprise-wide reimbursement services and creates one of the largest reimbursement practices in the Western United States.”

“Moss Adams has a history of excellent client service and strong corporate culture that complement our existing capabilities, values and long-term growth strategy,” said Michael Newell, president of SCA, via release. “The additional resources and services Moss Adams provides will be a great asset to our clients.”
