Highlights: Every year, we struggle with what to get mom for Mother’s Day. (Last year’s Curves membership was a flop.) An afternoon at Connemara Meadow Preserve might be the ticket—especially because mom is suddenly so “one” with nature. Expect live guitar and banjo music; storytellers who discuss topics like history, science, and cultural diversity; and guided tours of the gorgeous property.

Dig for Diamonds at Lone Star Park
Highlights
: Can’t afford jewels for mom this Mother’s Day? Take her to the races at Lone Star Park, where she might win them herself. In addition to a fun afternoon of live thoroughbred horse racing and betting on your favorites, the first 500 women age 21 and over through the gates will have the chance to win a diamond in the Diamond Dig.

Swiss Avenue Mother’s Day Home Tour
Highlights: You’ll take mom to brunch on Mother’s Day, of course. But we know you want to give her a little extra something this year. The Swiss Avenue Historic District is a great way to celebrate all day long.Travel the 2.5 miles in vintage-style (but air-conditioned) trolleys or a horse drawn carriage, while you gawk at the historic residences. Artisan booths, live music, food, and children’s activities will take place in Savage Park as well. Proceeds will benefit the neighborhood and the East Dallas community at large. If you’re touring on Sunday, be sure to stop by Savage Park for a Champagne Brunch from 2–4 pm.
Price: $15 in advance; $20 at the door. Kids 12 and under free. Tickets ordered online will be picked up at Savage Park.
