Ask a member of Los Angeles’ design cognoscenti to name her favorite local shops and, chances are, TenOverSix will be on the list. Lucky for design-minded Dallasites, store founders Kristen Lee, Brady Cunningham, and Joe Cole have brought their curated mix of fashion, home goods, and art to a new outpost inside the Joule hotel. So we asked Lee and Cunningham to share some thoughts on their latest location.

How is TenOverSix Dallas different from the L.A. store?
Our interest in furniture design and interiors has expanded in the past few years as we both did our own houses. So when we opened the Dallas store, it was a great opportunity to expand our home offerings and stock the store with the pottery, lighting, accessories, and furniture we live with. The stores are closely linked and have a lot of overlap, but the Dallas store benefits from our re-evaluation of how we can be doing what we do better.

What was your biggest surprise about Dallas?
We’d been to Dallas but had spent very little time downtown, so it’s been great discovering all the little neighborhoods. We hadn’t anticipated the incredible enthusiasm for art, fashion, and food, which made opening the new location even more exciting for us.

Any favorite Dallas haunts?
Some of our favorite spots are Spiral Diner, Oddfellows, Klyde Warren Park, Collage, the Nasher, Factory Girl, and FT33. We really like the Arts District, the Bishop Arts District, and the Design District.

Which home designers are you currently excited about?
We’re pretty crazy about ceramics, so we’re excited to carry Atwater Pottery, Victoria Morris, Pigeon Toe, and MQuan.

Anything new planned for fall?
We have some things in the works, but they are still under wraps. I will say that we’ll always have contemporary art shows, with a new one starting this fall. But don’t miss Alika Cooper’s Works on Paper at TenOverSix through the summer. Her pieces are beautiful in the home. We both have one!
