Sometimes less is a lot more—which is what drove Amber Davidson to uproot her much-loved Lovers Lane boutique StellaDallas and make the move to the Design District.

Davidson says the relocation was an opportunity to shift her strategy and to focus on “being really great at a few things,” namely the room-transforming textiles sought after by her customers. So out went the notecards, office supplies, and accessories that lined the shelves of her old location, and in came a carefully considered selection of pillows, fabric, and case goods.

Now, upon entering through the glossy black door of her cozy, vine-covered space, you encounter Davidson’s line of colorful pillows commingling with boho prints from Square Feathers and John Robshaw. Turn left and you enter the Missoni room, brimming with stacks of floor pillows, towels, and buttery throws emblazoned with the brand’s signature zigzags.

StellaDallas also serves as the exclusive Dallas retailer for Lilly Pulitzer Home, whose Palm Beach-preppy pillows and feminine furnishings add a nice contrast to the haute hippie style of Missoni and John Robshaw. With interior design services and custom upholstery rounding out the offerings, the new StellaDallas definitely makes menos look like mas.
