Pat Fallon sits on Frisco’s City Council. He is “no stranger to hard work and conservative principles.” He is also running for a seat in the Texas House, District 106. Problem is, Fallon didn’t live in District 106 until recently. He lived close to District 106 but not in District 106. Last fall, as he was building a house in District 106, he rented another house so that he could vote there. It doesn’t look as if he ever lived in that rental, though. And even if he had, there’s a question whether that would have legally established his residency.
This article on the Lewisville Texan Journal site rather tidily lays out what happened. To my mind, it’s a fun piece of gotcha journalism. According to Fallon, for six years he lived about 100 yards outside of District 106. Still, the rules are the rules. And it looks like Fallon broke them.
