Real Weddings: Lenore Lang & Brian Scates

A 'fairy tale' of a Napa Valley wedding.

Don’t get a girl’s hair wet in the pool. Everybody knows that rule. Everybody except Brian Scates, who splashed Lenore Lang at a college pool party thinking she was someone else. Lucky for Brian, she decided to forgive him and the two were practically inseparable ever since. The Napa Valley venue was a simple choice for the two. “We had been to the Villagio before,” says Lenore. “We fell in love with it then and talked about getting married there the weekend we got engaged.” After the ceremony on the lawn, the couple and their 110 guests moved into the barrel room and were treated to a seated dinner that featured a seasonal menu and wines from the region. “It was a fairy tale,” says Lenore.
